All of our team members have completed an intensive pet handling & dog behavior training program designed by our certified dog trainer, an extensive background check, are Pet First Aid & CPR certified, and commit to ongoing skill & knowledge training throughout their time on our team.
Dog walkers & pet sitters must go through a very through vetting, screening, and knowledge & skill assessment process to earn a spot on our team. Cloud 9 Canine is dedicated to finding the best, most caring and qualified pet care providers around.
Meet the Owners
Owner & Founder, Nicole Bowdish
Hi! I’m Nicole, the proud owner and founder of Cloud 9 Canine, LLC! My love for animals was fostered from a young age. I remember moving with my family to in a local rural community when I was four years old to a 30-acre property. Soon, the land was populated with an assortment of pets of all kinds. Throughout my childhood, I raised and cared for pets of all shapes and sizes from geckos and rabbits to goats and sheep, and spent many evenings inside watching Animal Planet.
Caring for my first dog, Morgan, greatly deepened my love for dogs and pet care. Shortly after, I began volunteering as a dog walker at local shelters. I later worked as a kennel attendant and in 2018, began providing pet care services for fun and was quickly enamored by dog walking and pet sitting. Not long after, I realized there is a strong need for reliable, customized pet care in Southwest Michigan, and, well, the rest is history!
Head Trainer, Jordan Bowdish
Hi there! My name is Jordan, and, fun fact: Nicole and I are twin sisters! I grew up on a hobby farm locally where my lifelong passion for working with pets and livestock developed. I am a Michigan State University alum (Go Green!) and returned to the area to attend occupational therapy school. I have long-term goals of working with service dogs and their handlers as a healthcare professional and dog trainer, and short-term goals of providing services and educational resources to local pet owners inspired by the need for increased information and resources I encountered when raising my Australian Cattle Dog puppy.
Currently, I serve part-time with Cloud 9 Canine completing program and policy development for services centered on evidence-based pet care handling techniques that support the holistic well-being of dogs, cats, and others. I also provide dog training services, including Private Lessons, Walk & Trains, and creating curriculum for Group Classes. A lot of my work occurs “behind the scenes” at this point, but I am in the field when training new hires and you may see me around as I fill in to help out the team as needed!
